Chances are high that you know the Hatman. Maybe you even met them one night, as they stared at you while you were half-asleep - unable to defend. But did you ever wonder what it felt to be the Hatman?

Gameplay

In this anti-stealth, light horror game, you can play as the Hatman! Use the light to wake people up, use the dark to get close to them, and scare as many as you can before the dawn. By the way, the Hatman is riiight behind you. You can't see it? Why don't you try shutting the lights off?

This game has been developed in Unity under 48h as a solo project for the GMTK Game Jam of 2023 (the theme of which was "Roles Reversed"). The sounds effects, UI, Hatman animation and some pixel art are selfmade. I used a couple of assets, the most important being:
